Making it in 5th place in American Idol is Aaron Kelly. He was very young and sweet but it was his time to go. Left in the compettion is Michael Lynche, Lee Dewyze, Crystal Bowersox and Casey James. Next week is songs from movies. I hope the 3 boys do well with this because they may struggle.

Elimination Night, May 5th

Last night was Frank Sinatra week. All the Idols did a song by Frank while they were mentored by Harry Connik Jr. He played the piano for all of them and re-arranged the songs for them too. Last night went pretty well and it's hard to say who is leaving next.
Aaron Kelly sang "Fly Me to the Moon." Overall the judges thought it was good and the vocals were good and he would be back but Simon said if Frank Sinatra was a lion, Aaron would be a mouse.
Casey James sang "Blue Skies." Randy and Ellen both agreed that it was pitchy all over and it could have been his worst performance yet and Simon said he felt Casey came over embarassed.
Crystal sang "Summer Winds." Randy felt it was a little sleepy and Ellen thought she could loosen up a little more and have some more fun. All the judges agreed the second half was better than the first.
Michael Lynche sang "The Way You Look Tonight." Randy said the vocals were amazing and the gauntlet was thrown down! Ellen said that he did great and out of all the contestants, he is the most comfortable on stage. Kara said he was still himself while taking them on a journey while he sang. And Simon said he really turned it around and he was amazing!
Lee Dewyze was last. He sang "That's Life." Randy loved it and Ellen said that if that performance was the performance for the chance to win it all, Lee would have won. Kara said he could win this thing but he needs more confidence in himself. Simon said he gave it 110% and it was the best performance of the night.

But who will go? I think Casey James is next to go. But the only person I think is safe for sure is Lee Dewyze and possible Michael. I think Casey goes tonight and then Aaron next week.

6th Place

Last Wednesday we lost Siobhan Magnus. At this point, it is so hard to pick someone to go and no one did that terrible either. We are down to the best of this compettion and it will be hard to say who will go next. You never know who America will vote for.

Country Week

Last night on American Idol it was Country Week. Every contestant had to sing a Shania Twain song. Overall, the contestants did very well and it will be a tough decision to see who will leave tonight.
Lee Dewyze sang "You're Still the One." The judges seemed to think it was just okay. Michael Lynche was pretty good. He sang "It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing." Randy said he did a Great Job and the girls could feel the emotion he put into the song while Simon said it was a bit girly and wet. No one had a clue what he meant by wet. Casey James had an amazing come back from last week! He sang "Don't" and all the judges agreed that it was his best performance to date. Crystal Bowersox did not do her best last night. She sang "No One Needs to Know" and Randy, Ellen, and Kara all agreed that is wasn't her best but they still love her. Simon said... Basically what they all are saying that it was bad. It is like you are at a coffee shop and you are one of those people that come over and sing to you even when you don't want them to. That was Crystal's first bad critique. Aaron sang "You Got Away" and the judges loved it. They thought when he makes an album that it should be country and that is the route he should take and the judges could feel the emotion he put into the song. Last was Siobhan. She sang "Any Man of Mine" and the judges thought Siobhan was back! They liked how the song was Punk Country and it fit her. Siobhan did her scream at the end of the song and Simon said that the scream sounded like she was giving birth.
Unfortunately, someone has to go. This is really tough and the compettion is getting so close to the end. But I think Siobhan Magnus is going to leave tonight. Michael Lynche is one of my personal favorites and I thought he did well last night but he may be at risk and same with Lee. And there is a chance the Crystal could go too.

Elimination

Last Wednesday was Idol Gives Back week. Everyone was wondering wether someone would actaully be leaving or not after Season 6 where everyone was safe that night. But unfortunately we lost someone. We lost Tim Urban. I did not think he deserved to go although I think he was going to be going sometime in the next 2 weeks along with Aaron and maybe Siobhan. Casey did not do very well last night and did the worst out of all 7. I thought he should have gone but I hope Casey will do better next week.
People for sure in the Top 5? I think Crystal, Michael, and Lee. The other ones need to do well on their performances to stay in the game(Aaron, Siobhan, Casey).

Top 7

This week is Idol Gives Back, which means that the songs had to be inspirational. Last night, some people did well, others did not.

Casey James did not have a very good night. He sang "Don't Stop." Simon didn't find it very inspirational and the judges felt like he wasn't showing how he was diffrent and unique.


On the other hand Lee Dewyze had an amazing night! He sang"The Boxer." Simon thought it was brilliant and one of the best performances of the night and the other judges loved it!


Tim Urban went next and he was just OK. He sang "Better Days." It was sort of a let down for them but in the end, it seems like they thought he was better than Casey.



Aaron Kelly sang "I Believe I can Fly." The judges said the beginning wasn't that good but by the end it was amazing and they were crazy about the end but not the beginning.



Si0bhan Magnus sang "When You Believe." Overall the judges thought it was OK. To me, it seems like Siobhan has lost her touch. I think the judges liked her better when she was doing the faster songs.



Michael Lynche sang "Hero." The judges overall thought it was pretty good but not quite amazing. Simon felt that it wasn't the best inspirational song but the performance was still good. I am very glad that the judges saved him and I hope he doesn't go this week.



Last was Crystal Bowerzox. She sang "People Get Ready." Right at the end of the song with the last few notes of the song, she got emotional and started to cry. The judges liked that she connected with the song and was emotional and as usual they thought she was amazing. Shocker.



But who will go? I think if it was by performance Casey James. But people have their favorites and vote for them whether they did well or not. I think Casey is at risk but also Tim and Aaron too. But I think Casey is going to be in 7th place.

Last Wednesday was the double elimination day. We lost Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens. Andrew hasn't been doing his best and it was his time to go. But on the other hand, Katie has been improving and been doing really well and unfortunately she got voted off. Katie Stevens and Michael Lynche are my two favorites. I was hoping Katie could stay a little longer and maybe be able to be there for country week since Simon says she would do well singing country music. The person next to be voted off I would have to say either Siobhan Magnus or Aaron Kelly. Next week is Idol Gives Back so someone might be voted off or they may do another double elimination the following week.

Simon said this year was the year for the girls, but four out of the six girls have been voted off and one out of the six guys have been voted off..... Is it really the year for the girls?!

Top 9 Elimination Predictions

We started with 12 and now we are down to the Top 9. Last week the judges used the save on Michael Lynche so no one can be saved now and it is a double elimination this week. My prediction for who is leaving tonight is....Andrew Garcia and Aaron Kelly. They both didn't do their best last night and over the last few weeks haven't been getting the best reviews. It's their time to go. One of my favorites from last night though was Michael Lynche. His performance of "In the Ghetto" was amazing! The judges liked it too and thought it was a good choice to use the save. I think that Michael Lynche, Crystal Bowersox, and Lee Dewyze are safe for sure.
